Check Out This Giveaway: Yoplait Thick & Creamy Yogurt is my brand. It Could Be Yours!
I was recently sent a coupon for Yoplait Thick & Creamy along with a cute set of stationery. Perfect! How did they know that I needed to write some thank-you notes? AND eating Yoplait Thick & Creamy is more like eating a fruit custard. I love it. My favorite flavor is "Light" Cherry Cobbler--100 calories and fat free! Because it is so thick, the experience takes a little longer--just like writing a letter long-hand takes longer than writing an e-mail.
Yoplait wants to let other folks find out how good their yogurt is, too; so they have asked me to pick out two of "Thrifty" readers to get the kit that I was sent. In order to make this a little contest, I ask that you please answer the following question by 10 p.m., Thursday, July 23:
In today's busy world, when is it still absolutely de rigueur to hand-write a note or letter?
Post your response as a comment. After I pick the winners, I'll announce them on this blog. The winners can then e-mail me their shipping info. Thanks for participating!

I'm thinking Thank You Notes (especially for weddings, aniversarys and showers)need to be handwritten.

ReplyDeletewhenever someone is going through a hard time, whether it be a devastating loss or simply the "blues" ... the letter takes more time than an email and shows real concern.
ReplyDeleteAltough handwritten thank you notes are absolutely necessary when gifts are given, I think the most important time to write them is when someone goes out of their way to do something nice for you without having to be asked!
ReplyDeleteI love handwritten notes...both sending and receiving them. Taking the time to write a note shows sincerity. They are a must when you receive a gift from someone.
ReplyDeleteI love Yoplait! It is definitely the only yogurt that I eat!!! :)
ReplyDeleteAs far as hand-written notes... I think that you should always hand write thank you notes - whether it is for a gift or for someone allowing you to stay at their home... hand written notes mean so much more than anything else! The best hand-written note is one that is received by someone who was just thinking about you during a special time in your life and wanted to let you know...
I think that thank you notes should always be hand written but even a "thinking of you" note is so much more thoughtful if handwritten. It seems to be so much more heart felt if the time has been taken to sit down, write a note, and stick it in the mail!
ReplyDeleteWritten notes are tangible evidence of a person thinking about another person, even if briefly. They are evidence of authenticity. There is a reason people value original letters written by historic personages: the thrill of touching what was handled by the sender.
ReplyDeleteIt's always a good time for handwritten notes! Not only do you feel good about writing them, but the person on the receiving end feels very special. Whether it's a thank you, note of concern, or just to let someone know you are thinking of them, a handwritten note or letter will brighten anyone's day! And I think it's a great reminder to slow down in this crazy world of ours and enjoy the simple things in life =)
ReplyDeleteI love hand written notes. It is it still absolutely de rigueur to hand-write a note or letter when you receive a wedding gift or shower gift. People have gone out of their way to share your special time and it is imperative to show your gratitude! I actually received a hand written note from a co-worker this week, thanking me for all I do in the office. It was so special to me and so unexpected!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting is it to open your mailbox at the end of a long day and have a letter waiting for you? When I receive "thinking of you" hand written notes from my mom I get the warm and fuzzies I can never get from an email or text. True sincerity and authenticity comes from a handwritten note.
ReplyDeleteHandwritten notes are absolutely a MUST in my household. My kids KNOW that when they receive any kind of gift(be it at the Holidays, for a Birthday or anytime someone pays their way to an event-theatre, sporting event, etc.)they are expected to send a note. Maybe it's my southern roots but written thank yous are just plain good etiquette. I started my kids before they could write(3 yrs. old). They would draw or color, create 'art work' as their way of saying thanks. When they learned to write, we would incorporate words along with drawings, stickers, etc. Eventually as they grew older they progressed to a more grown-up form of letter writing. They may backslide in the teen yrs but If you make it fun and start them young, you can instill these necessary social skills in them easily.
ReplyDeleteIt is always important to hand-write a thank-you note, and nice to send someone a hand-written get well card. I love getting handwritten notes - it really makes my day!
